O’Brien ready to fill the void at safety in the near future, McMillon is a player who may be expected to fill a key role early. With youthful options like Javon McIntyre and P.J. With the uncertainty of Pitt’s starting safety duo, with Erick Hallett and Brandon Hill both facing decisions of their own, McMillon is a hard-hitting box safety that would fit in well in the mold of a player like Hill. Most of McMillon’s work came against Eastern Washington and Florida State, upwards of 20 snaps against both opponents. He missed just one tackle and allowed 19 yards on three receptions (three targets) where he was in coverage. In McMillon’s sophomore season, he recorded 64 defensive snaps - 27 in run defense and 37 in coverage. But he was able to flash a hard-hitting, sure-handed tackling ability when afforded the chance. Most of McMillon’s action - over the course of his 25 games in Gainesville - came as a special teams gunner. McMillon didn’t play a whole bunch at Florida, just 109 defensive snaps over his two seasons, according to PFF, but he recorded 30 tackles (18 solo) and a tackle for loss in his limited action.
